My friend Brittany is a very talented cook, baker to the point where I plan on smuggling my self and a book light into her kitchen and converting a cabinet into a small but very happy home. She spoke of a particular cookbook, How to be a Domestic Goddess very highly. Intrigued I requested it from the library and started out with something that did not seem too difficult at the time. Norwegian Cinnamon Rolls.
/spends a moment reliving the choice words I had for Norway last night when the dough forgot to rise
While it was a bit stressful, mostly cause I try to stay away from recipes that need yeast and hence have no experience with it, it was also very fun. So the first batch did not rise like it should have, they still taste good warmed up with a little cina/sugar sprinkled on the top.
This book, I think, will be good. Besides ther fact I can now use all the flour I have (woot for more cabinet space) it has also gotten in interested in other kinds of cooking again. Not just the simple but good comfort food I usually end up making but the fancy stuff.
Oooo fancy stuff.
An addiction begins....

You know, those rolls should really try and remember to rise...I mean really, you got to all the trouble to make them and they forget their one job!!!
